Kortfattat från domssöndagens predikan i EFS i Röke:

Vi har lätt att betrakta ordet ”främling” som beskrivningen på en person, men jag vill påstå att det snarare beskriver en relation. För den som är en främling för mig är jag i min tur en främling. Ingen är en främling när man är ensam, främling blir man alltid i relation till någon annan. Jesus är flera gånger tydlig med att till ett rättfärdigt liv hör att ta sig an främlingen, att bry sig om och sträcka ut en hand till den som behöver hjälp oavsett vem hon är. Så mycket älskar han varje människa att den gärning av barmhärtighet eller den likgiltighetens bortvända rygg med vilken vi möter en människa i behov är vad Jesus upplever att vi möter honom själv med. När vi väljer att göra oss till främlingar för dem som behöver vår hjälp gör vi oss till främlingar till Jesus, så att han i liknelsen i förra veckans text får anledning att säga ”Sannerligen, jag känner er inte” (Matt 25:12).
